Bunya

This is the unwraped pinecone of a native bunya nut, each seed is perfectly enclosed in it's own green leaf. As the seeds are unwound the core is revealed, tiny yet important. It was left by a well worn path in a nature reserve and lasted more than two months in this form, the colours slowly changing into a rich yellow, gold and brown against the green of the grass.
